Connect North San José is an effort to create a Multimodal Transportation Improvement Plan (MTIP). This process began in January 2024 and is expected to continue until mid-2025. The final plan will include transportation projects, guidelines, and programs that will aim to make North San José safer and easier to get around. Art Builds Community was brought on by Winters to facilitate a community engagement activity that would specifically focus on gathering community feedback around public art and art experiences for the plan. Prompts were created to explore how members envisioned what they would like to see along their everyday experience in North San Jose whether that was for work or play. Tools were provided for participants to draw and encapsulate their visions into Shrinky Dink key chains for them to take home with them to remember their participation for the MTIP.
