TALKPGH was an element of DesignPGH and ARTPgh. Barbara Goldstein recruited and worked with artists Jon Rubin and Nina Sarnelle who engaged neighbors in helping to envision Pittsburgh’s future, informing the City’s comprehensive plan and its art and design sections. During a three week period, a transparent truck served as a mobile talk show set, visiting each of the city’s 90 neighborhoods, interviewing 267 residents about their opinions, histories, and aspirations for their neighborhoods. The interviews were later broadcast on the City’s television station.
