The Park(ing) Day Project (2014), a collaboration between artists Hector Mendoza and Pilar Aguero, used two parking spaces to create a temporary social and interactive place for community engagement featuring a disc jockey who spun disks at the request of bypassing pedestrians. This social lounge was installed using a modified tent frame and colorful materials. The structure also included a fenced in “outdoor” space where visitors posted responses to the question “What do you want your downtown to be?”.
